Trend Micro=Client Problems?
Okay, so up until last Wednesday I found my computer had been running with NO virus software. Ironically, the computer was running faster than ever w/ no problems and I was having no disconnects, freezing, or lagging on gw for the most part.
So, I put on the Trend Micro Software that I had been paying for without actually using it. Boom! Now, my computer is slower overall, and running the GW client is giving me some major problems.
NOTE: I can play guildwars on another computer in my household that has Trend Micro.
- Specifically, when I log on to guildwars, all the skins on my characters are messed up.
- I cannot make the client window full screen.
- I have to reload all the towns I've preloaded (and they take an insanely long amount of time to load).
- And when I'm finally on a character and a town, the client will freeze and force me to reboot.

Hasn't been resolved, to further elaborate on my problem, it seems that EVERY time i run gw on this comp, it forces me to redownload all files and reload towns ive already loaded.
And yes, trend micro was the only change that happened EXACTLY when these problems started occuring. To make it clear though, I did delete some "suspicious files" using trend micro after which this started happening
Thanks! If it comes down to removing trend micro or gw off this comp, its going to be trend micro :P

Sounds like you might have gotten some "false" hits and deleted files you shouldn't have... Well, thats a possibility.
Try uninstalling TM and seeing if that resolves the issue - if so.. who knows as you say you have another comp with TM on and GW has no issue's.
If you still have issue's after uninstalling TM (likely if you accidently nuked important files..).. try the following:
1. uninstalling and re-installing GW
2. uninstall and re-install video drivers
3. uninstall and re-install sound drivers
4. re-install directX
5. run spyware scanners (Adaware, Spyboy S&D, etc)
6. defrag your HD (lol always worth doing anyways )
7. run CCleaner on your system.
If all else fails:
Re-Install Windows
Seriously though, it's either some setting in TM (or a corrupted install), or those deleted files that are likely to be causing the problems...

I wouldn't be surprised if Trend Micro is the problem. After all, there website was recently the victim of a hack, so it's possible the dat files or anything else relating to them may have been compromised.
If you feel the need to check your Windows OS, simply do these two commands:
sfc /purgecache
sfc /scannow
Or if you prefer, you can get Dial-a-fix from the link below and use the Tools section to do the SFC commands.
